If you enjoy biking you'll be
overflowing with happiness when you join a CWAM Ride Out where members hit the open road en
mass (to be honest, generally less than 12) and head for the hills and/or
coast. Journeys usually range between 250 and 300 miles although over
enthusiasm has clocked up in excess of 400 miles on the odd occasion. The diverse and exotic destinations that
CWAM are visiting in the near future are listed in the Events Diary.

Generally riders meet at Kestrel
Motors (104-108 Holbrook Lane, Coventry CV6 4BH) for a PROMPT departure at
9:00. Those arriving at 9:05 will be on
their own and make sure you check the Events Diary
in case the departure point changes. Departure points can vary so make sure you
check the Diary before leaving.

For associates, the great thing about Ride Out
Days is that they see experienced bikers in action and
learn by example without necessarily realising it. For full members, there're a good excuse to eat up the miles with
their mates. All rides are planned and pre-checked by a volunteer organiser who
leads the group on a route that ensures great biking. Convenient interim stops
for petrol and a breather usually supplement a longer stop at the day's
destination. With interesting places to visit and good company, a fine day is ensured
whatever the weather.

The following notes are
intended as guidance whilst participating in any Group event /ride
out.
-
Safety is paramount,
ride with discipline and restraint.
-
You are responsible for
your own actions.
-
You should ride within
your own capability at all times.
-
You must exercise your
own judgement.
-
You MUST obey the Road
Traffic Laws and follow the Highway Code.
-
You should know who the
lead and tail riders are.
-
If the rider behind you
disappears from your mirrors, slow down or stop.
-
You should consider
waiting at a junction as a marker for following riders.
-
Once a riding order has
been established, it is not good practice to overtake within the
group.
-
Try to ride in staggered
formation in towns and dual carriageways.
-
Inform the run leader if
you decide to leave the ride out.
-
Try not to be critical
of other riders within the group, not everyone is as perfect as you!
