Police
Instructor Assessments are on-road
sessions led by the resident CWAM police instructor, Jim Sampson. Any
full member can attend by contacting Paul Lewis directly or via the
website link to either book a place for a specific date or to be listed
for next available date.
The sessions are designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable half day
of riding where one’s personal Roadcraft skills can be honed and
weaknesses and strengths confirmed. There is a maximum of 3 attendees
for each four to five hour session. The session starts with a
demonstration ride given by the instructor with each attendee taking it
in turns to ride in the number two position. Then, following a break for
breakfast, each attendee takes their turn to lead with the instructor in
the number two position for about 20 to 30 minutes, stopping for
debriefing and guidance as required. The attendee not only learns from
their own experience but also from the advice given to the other riders.
Each attendee will receive a report on their riding and an overall
score that can be used as a target for betterment at subsequent
attempts.
