June Ride Out - Father's Day Treat for £ 4.50

Set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, Crofton Pumping Station (built 1807) houses two magnificent Cornish beam engines, one of which is the oldest working beam engine in the World still in its original engine house and capable of actually doing the job for which it was installed.

As part of the June 20th ride out, Mike Forbes has arranged a private tour of the works especially for CWAM for which there is a small charge of £4.50. If you are allergic to moving machinery (which is unlikely since you will have arrived on your bike) you can opt out  but ideally a full compliment will join the tour. It would be incredibly embarrassing not only for Mike, but for CWAM, if only a couple of us took advantage of such a first-class opportunity.

I think Simon is organising the route so a good biking experience is assured. Parking spaces have been reserved and refreshments are available at the Engineman's Rest cafe. A great day, not to be missed, check out http://www.croftonbeamengines.org/about.html to whet your appetite.
