Steve Pearce, the King of Karting, has booked Priory Park on Saturday 27th March 2010 at 4.00pm. Priory Park is an outdoor circuit which is bigger and FASTER than last years venue.

Steve writes-
I have booked another karting event for this year at the Priory Park circuit, Robey’s Lane, Alvecote, Tamworth, B78 1AR

Based on the feedback from last year’s event, pretty much everyone said they had a great time, although having said that, because it was indoors the fumes was a bit of a problem, and also in my opinion the teams were a bit unfair. This year the circuit is out door and will be longer and faster than the indoor circuit, mainly because of the open space. If you are considering this for your first time, don’t be put off by the FASTER circuit, it does have some good straight sections and some tight corners so you will be lucky if you reach 30mph.

I am hoping to do a two hour endurance race again, but they only run a minimum of six karts for this type of event so with four drivers per team, we need a minimum of 24 drivers, The cost is £150 per kart so that means the cost per person is about £37.50 and each driver should get about 30mins track time. There will be a 20min practice session so that every driver can do a couple of practice laps before the race actually starts.

Note; Minimum age to drive is sixteen

If you have not done an endurance race before, basically you race as a team for a non stop race for two hours and the team that does the most laps during the two hours wins. The enjoyable thing about the endurance race is that each team will have to do pit stops to change drivers, usually every 10 – 15mins. This will give you about 20 -30 mins to chat to your friends, comment on how well your competing drivers are doing, check your lap times on the monitor and plenty of time to tie your mates shoe laces together so he can’t do that quick driver change, it really is good fun and if it rains it’s even better.

This is a social event so please invite your family and friends; it is also open to other groups as well if they would like to come along. I am hoping that these events can socially bring our members and other groups together. I am also hoping it will kind of breed some karting enthusiasts to possibly in the future have teams from various groups to race against each other.

If you are interested could you send me a deposit of
