I've just received my copy of 'LifeSupport', the WNAA magazine and I thought that as it's CWAM's preferred charity, a reminder of the good work they do wouldn't go amiss.

The WNAA' s 12 Doctors, 12 Paramedics & 3 Pilots serve a population of around 1.1 million. The service has a primary response area of 2,000 square miles as well as helping out neighbouring counties under a mutual aid agreement. In the three years it has been operating over 5,500 missions have been flown and with an ever-increasing callout rate of 120-150 callouts per month, the WNAA is the busiest air ambulance in the UK.

The following mission is typical. ......." were called to attend a serious RTC in the Knowle area, on the West Midlands - Warwickshire border.  A male adult believed to be in his 40's sustained serious head and pelvic injuries when the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a light motor vehicle. Working together with a paramedic from West Midlands Ambulance Service, the patient was stabilised by the air ambulance crew before being flown to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he was met by a waiting trauma team".......

Check out www.wnaa.co.uk for more heart-warming stories and how you may be able to help.

Since we presented a cheque for £362 to Jo Payne back in May 2008, CWAM has collected more than £400 for WNAA, not bad for a small group. Don't forget that the donation of a prize for our Club Night raffles will always be gratefully received .
