Ian Chapman, (for those who don't know him, he's the big guy in the white Arai helmet, whose prolific brainwaves emit a force-field of such strength that he is prohibited from going within fifty miles of the Swiss border for fear he destabilises the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and creates his own black hole), has come up with a great idea for publicising CWAM and the exceptional work it does. Although at an early stage in it's development, he employs the idiom of many hands making light work as the basis for his scheme. He suggests that there is an opportunity for our publicity to cover a wide area of the Midlands if as many of the members as possible take responsibility for distributing publicity material to their local motorcycle shop, library, council offices, whatever. Bearing in mind that this could easily cover a 12 - 15 mile radius of Coventry, it appears to be a good suggestion and eminently doable. It's success however, is dependant, as is often the case, on the enthusiasm of the membership. If you feel that asking your local library or bike shop to pin up a CWAM notice is within your capabilities and/or have any ideas for refining/improving the proposal, please let Ian know either next time you see him or via webadmin@cwam.org.uk.Quickly realising that this is useful but not a particularly onerous or demanding task, the Web Admin guy will start the ball rolling by undertaking to tackle the library, bike shop and parish council notice board in Wellesbourne, the biking capital of South Warwickshire. The remainder of the Midlands is down to the rest of you. |
