Skittles Night

A well attended Beer 'n Skittles evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone on July 23rd. Simon  organised the team competition efficiently, keeping things moving along at a good pace, whilst Keith, on a commission from the catering manager, encouraged everyone to lay siege to the kitchen. The Sudden Death Competition at half time which raised over £20 for the Air Ambulance, resulted in a resounding and well deserved victory for Sally Collard who was, after some prompting, cheered on by husband Ian. The second round of the Team Competition saw the originally named Team 7 triumphant. Steve Bradford (a prospective new associate member) whose feat of knocking down all 9 skittles with his first ball in the second round guaranteed him the Highest Scoring Man prize and Karen Chapman lifted the Highest Lady Scorer prize. Simon Lewis picked up the cabbage for the lowest scorer and showed his talent for turning the occasion to best advantage by placing the cabbage on John's head whilst retaining a look of boyish innocence when the picture was taken.

A highly successful evening was made even more so by the lack of injury to those in the pit on the receiving end of Alan Knight's mighty efforts.
