Hunstanton Ride Out |

With a choice of two great ride outs, east to Hunstanton and west to the wild & wooly Welsh Coast, there were surprisingly few members at the Kestrel showroom on July 20th. Alan Knight negotiated a seemingly complicated route with ease and faultlessly delivered four of us to the packed bike park beside the grassy terrace overlooking a sparsely populated beach in time for lunch. A lazy hour spent watching the kitesurfers and topping up energy levels at the chip shop, then it was back on the A149, happily overtaking the nose to tail cars that seemed to stretch from Hunstanton to the outskirts of Kings Lynn. An unscheduled stop gave four of us the opportunity to see the effects of leg-cramps on Mike as he writhed in agony at the side of the kerb but he gamely to carried on without further mishap. A circuitous route from Lutterworth to Hinkley had me completely disorientated but finished an altogether enjoyable and thankfully rain-free day. |
