Air Ambulance Club Night

On May 21st those CWAM members who could deny themselves the nail-biting trauma of watching the Champions League Final enjoyed a fact-packed talk by Jo Payne from the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Even the most cynical would find it impossible not to be impressed by the great things WNAA achieve without Government or Lottery funding. Just take a look at the missions they have recently flown, not only will you be humbled, you will be proud that CWAM has selected WNAA as their designated charity. Following Jo's talk, Tony Williamson presented a cheque for £362 which represented the proceeds from the Christmas raffle, the TomTom SatNav raffle and contributions made during the Atherstone Carnival. Knowing that the average mission costs £850 and that this year WNAA completed its 6000th mission, the scale of the funding required becomes self-evident. Wouldn't it be great, if at the end of the year, CWAM could say that it's members had funded a complete mission. Even your notoriously tight web administrator was so moved that he has undertaken to make a monthly donation. By sheer chance, as I am typing this at 17:45 on May 22nd, the Air Ambulance has just thundered over my house in Wellesbourne - coincidence or what! Click on their logo above and see the good work they do.
