Club Night Sept 16th 2009

The evening started with Simon paying tribute to Terry White and proposing a toast. After the usual announcements, IAM test pass certificates were presented to Michelle Wigley, Nigel Wright  and Trevor Smith. So far this year CWAM has had a record 15 passes.

Jim Sampson showed us the result of testing a new helmet camera around the lanes of Warwickshire, analysing his performance as the journey progressed. This was an insightful view into his thought processes which stressed the need for good observation, forward planning and the ability to stop safely if required by the constant reference to IPSGA.

After the break, Heydon Aldersey from Green Leopard, the manufacturers of custom ear plugs took the floor, whilst Clare (Mrs Green Leopard) did brisk business at the back of the room taking ear mouldings from customers. Heydon told us all there is to know about moulded ear plugs and when you realise that bikers expose themselves to anything from 90 to 120 decibels (well beyond what is acceptable in an industrial environment) it is easy to understand the importance of protecting yourself from hearing loss. To contact Heydon or find out more about Green Leopard see http://www.greenleopard.co.uk/index.htm

As an aside and nothing to do with anything at all, if you put ‘Heydon Aldersey’ into a Google search, the fourth item returned is a link to the CWAM Club Night page!
