Christmas Dinner Dec 11th 

So you think that just because we've had three warm days in a row that summer will never end. Well, you're WRONG!  As you whistle round the lanes you must have noticed that the verges are rapidly losing their summer colours to be replaced by drying stems loaded with rattling seed heads, swallows are congregating on the wires and raucous gulls are tracking the ploughs that cultivate the stubble fields. Once again the nights are drawing in and it's time to look out that long. thin knife to raid the kid's piggy bank so you can settle those ever-increasing utility bills. 

All these signs can only presage a celebration of considerable consequence - yes, you must have guessed by now - it's the CWAM annual Christmas Dinner which looms on the horizon albeit somewhat distantly.

This note is to give you fair warning to keep the evening of Friday Dec 11th free. As yet, all I know is that the festive feast fit only for discerning diners and gargantuan gourmands will be set in the sumptuous surroundings of the Jaguar Sports Club, but, as I type I am confident that there are countless committee members bravely beavering away to ensure that this will be yet another CWAM success; an extravaganza of entertainment and a fitting culmination to the 2009 programme.
